Default ShockShooter =): efficient, funny and annoying build:

Well, one day when i was in Random Arena with my Earth Elementalist, i saw an Elementalist with a bow... At the beginning of the match he did pratically 0 damage. We(Our team) all thought:"WTF is he doing? AFK?" and then BAM! I'm knockdowned. And then my teamates monk warrior and mesmer come at me to help me out...All four of us got KD for 15 secs. I then saw at the upper right corner "Thunderclap". We were all like WTF IS HAPPENING?! We were disabled for 15 secs...Totally disabled. We couldn't move, our spells weren't fast enough, and as soon as we got up we were knockdowned again...Meanwhile, in the 15 sec duration of the hex, all his team killed us...Meteor Shower, Fire Storm and some other nukes, other attacks and we were all dead... Never saw this guy again so i decided to get this build going. Putted a shocking short bow and a thunderclap in my skill bar, i was ready for Random Arena. At my great pleasure, this build was working wonderfully! I'd like to thank the one who made me run this build. If you are reading, congratulations XD!(So annoying and so great...) So there it comes:

Profession: Elementalist/Ranger
Name: ShockShooter
Type: Mostly PvP, you can go to HoH, GvG and Arena with it.
Category: Funny build, very efficient snaring build. You can also support spike.

Attributes:
Air Magic: 12+3+1
Energy Storage:12+1
Marksmanship: 3

Skills Set:
1. Lightning Strike: Support Spike.
2. Lightning Javelin(You can replace by any spells you want, i would replace it by Favorable Winds if i were you.)
3. Thunderclap{Elite}: The main purpose of the build.
4. Lightning Orb: Support Spike.
5. Air Attunement: Energy Management
6. Enervating Charge( You can get Blinding Flash or Chain Lightning if you want)
7. Blinding Flash(You can get Enervating Charge or Chain Lightning if you want)
8. Ressurection Signet or any other skill you want...

Equipment:
You must have 2 sets: An Insightful Air Staff of Fortitude or Enchanting 20/20 and a Shocking Short Bow of Anything you want.

Summary:
You have two choices: Go do damage or crap their lives with knockdown. If you are reading this you should go with the KD. Of course the other skills are not necessary so if you don't have them, it's fine. It's just an good option if they remove Thunderclap before you can hit them and when you have 0 energy you can spike untill they are dead. Well here it is:
You should put Air Attunement at about...50 feet of the opponent. That's about some mm of the Agro Bubble. After that, switch to your Short Bow. Mostly target people who are very close, let's say 2 warriors that are going on you.(You should target their monk because he/she could remove Thunderclap but...) And then, once you have a target, get close to it, put Thunderclap and start shooting! Normally, you should have 69 energy when you switch to your bow and about 59 when you start shooting. Once you shoot, you see that your energy goes down fast. Your energy should last long enough for you to shoot untill the hex goes off naturally. Once you stop KDing the target, it means you have around 7 energy. At this point, you have again 2 choices: stop shooting and take your staff to have extra energy and continue to knockdown at a lower rate or you can take your staff out with the extra energy and do some spike spells. Personally i find the staff not efficient enough to knockdown so i choose usually the second option. You can also wait for your energy to recover but if you choose that, hide well; you should be dead by then. If you want to continue spiking, cast Lightning Strike, Lightning Orb and spam some Blinding Flash on warriors or rangers. Enervating charge is also useful but less than blinding which prevent attack completly. If you followed all the instructions, you should be doing good and have a: "KILL THIS NOOB ----!!!"!"/$%?&* ----!!!!11!!1!11!!oneone!" at the end of the match. If you couldn't follow all the instructions, YOU ARE A ----ING MORON!!!

Notes & Concerns:
A principal weakness of this build is that you rely on Thunderclap to disable the people... When you have no more energy, you are useless. Thought, if you perma-KD the opponent, they can't E-Denial you even if they do 1/8 sec spells... Of course, with the bow, you have extra energy left in the staff so you have some back-up energy. Another weakness is when you have 0 energy, you efficiency in the combat goes DOoOOOOOOoOoOOoWWwwwn.... So have you team kill the ennemy before he gets up and the hex goes out... Many other minor flaws i cannot see, post them here.

Credit: I'd like thanking the guy who originally made this build. (And myself of course for making it more versatile.)

Post any comments you want, flame if you want, i do not really care! I'll try to improve if you have any constructive comment.

Enjoy!

Use glyph of ele power then cast thunderclap. At lvl 18 tclap doesnt cost as much(per hit) and you can squeeze out more KD's. Also you dont want to shoot too fast, you lose energy even if the target is not KD. Id leave read the wind behind. Wands and staves also shoot too fast. Tclap is only most useful when hitting a target within a group. Single targets are not worth the loss of energy. You could simply kill the single target rather than KD. Other than that, the build works well... I started using a similar build last fall.

Heh! Good idea! Thought, it's just a fun build. Its goal is to prevent someone/group of people from completely moving at all. I take your nice tips for my next build thought. =)
